I recently had a movie night with friends, and we watched a movie that I hadn’t heard of. Like always, I am late in seeing this amazing film that I am going to recommend to you. It is called Room.
The premise of this 2015 thriller is that a 5-year old boy has spent his entire life in a room with his mother. He knows close to nothing about the outside world. What will happen? Will they stay in the room? Will they get to leave? These questions and more circle your head while watching the movie.
I got drawn into this movie very quickly. I wanted to know the answers to the questions that had not yet been answered. I fell in love with this movie and it’s protagonist more and more as the movie progresses. The story and character development make this a really great movie.
I would not recommend this for young children as there are definitely themes and insinuations that are not appropriate for them, but a mature 15 year old could definitely be well equipped to watch this movie.
The overall message of the movie is really inspiring. It is based on a book, so if you recently read the book, this would be a great movie to watch afterwards. It was said to be a good adaptation. It remains true to the original story and does a great job at bringing it to life. This is a movie that I do definitely recommend.
